The Robert B. Davis Distinguished Lecture is scheduled for Friday, April 7, in the Auditorium of Hunt Library. Presented by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the lecture is by Dr. Nava Setter, director of the Ceramics Laboratory of EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (Switzerland) and a professor of materials science and engineering.

Great Blizzard “Upside-Down-or-Free” STEM Challenge

Location: Dairy Queen, 5260 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC

Accept the challenge: Design and create an apparatus out of reuse materials to safely deliver a Dairy Queen Blizzard from the rooftop of a Dairy Queen Restaurant to a target below. All Dairy Queen Blizzards are served upside-down-or-free, so your creation needs to safely deliver the blizzard upside down without the contents falling out of the cup.
